The Art of Being Elsewhere

Hello
We are Stephanie and Michael, nomad travelers with a passion for exploring the vast wonders of our planet. Our journey began many years ago, driven by an insatiable curiosity and a desire to experience the diverse cultures, landscapes, and histories that make our world so fascinating.
Throughout the years, we have traversed continents, from the bustling streets of Tokyo to the serene beaches of Bali, from the majestic peaks of the Andes to the sprawling savannas of Africa. Every destination has offered a unique perspective, enriching our understanding of the world and deepening our appreciation for the beauty and complexity of human existence.
I go not to conquer places, but to be undone by them – to trade certainty for wonder and write the story of us with a heart wide open to awe.” - - Stephanie
About Us
Stephanie (aka Judy)
Traveler, seeker, and lifelong student of the world—raised on dreams of adventure, courage, and quiet wisdom. A writer at heart, I’ve done yoga in over 60 countries, trekked Kilimanjaro, piloted planes, driven on the 'wrong' side of the road, and followed curiosity across cultures. With my life-partner beside me, I walk the world with an open heart—guided by kindness, connection, and a wish to leave a little more love behind. Whether it’s a perfect chouquette in an outdoor café, an art opening, diving with sharks, stinky and smelly sleeping under the stars after a long day of hiking, or a masked ball at midnight—I’m up for the wildest ride. This isn’t the dress rehearsal—it’s the play.

Navigator, Helmsman, Wayfinder, and Wheelman of this traveling duo. I am also a lifelong student of the world, driven to explore by the books of my youth. From Peter Benchley's The Island to Daniel Defoe's Robinson Crusoe, these stories ignited my imagination and instilled in me an unquenchable thirst for adventure.
As an amateur writer learning my way through it all, I find my true element in the planning and execution of travel odyssey's. The more complex, off the beaten path - with lots of moving parts and travel modes - the better. Whether it's trekking to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro, diving in the Red Sea, helicoptering to the peak of Mt. Everest, or sailplaning over the deserts of Arizona, if I can drive it, dive it, sail it, or overland in it, count me in.
With my life partner beside me, I walk the world guided by the three Ps: planning, preparation, and prevention. I am always up for the wildest ride, guided by kindness and a profound understanding gained through the school of hard knocks to plan for the worst and hope for the best. This isn't the dress rehearsal—it's the play.
